I love the way he looks at past!Dean just as he says “of course” like he’s saying, “See how you’ve changed? See how this is a death mission? And I still follow you everywhere. It’s to be expected.” Like Dean should know that, back then, before all of this comes to pass. Know that Cas is always going to be on his side and follow him wherever he’ll go.
It’s even reiterated in that line that got cut from production. Where Cas says, “The only thing we have, Dean and me, is each other.”
But Dean never really gets the message, does he? Because he’s still always surprised.
